DIY Witches Cauldron
This DIY is one of those that you don’t know how it’ll turn out but ends up being incredible! Dylan is very pleased with the glowing orange from the (boiling) cauldron at night! And it’s insane how much spray insulation looks like boiled foam!!
Things you need —
(3) 1x2x6’ wood boards
Wood screws
Jute cord
Black spray paint
Black sash chain
(3) Eye bolts
Cardboard
We started by building the stand. We took a few minutes to fandangle the three boards to make them lay how we wanted and then secured it with a few wood screws. Then we wrapped a good amount of jute cord around the intersection and tied off the end.
We attached the three eye bolts about 6” down and then hooked on the sash chain. We used the cauldron to decide how long the chain should be and then cut it in 3 equal pieces.
Then we used black paint (I would recommend doing all spray paint but we ran out and had to use some craft paint). We painted over the whole structure, jute cord and all.
4. We drilled out a hole to slide the lights through and a few small holes on the top for the sash chain to hook into.
5. Then I used some cardboard to cut into a circle to cover the top of the cauldron so we didn’t have to fill it up. Be sure to add another hole for the lights to lace through!
6. Then we started spraying the insulation in layers, letting it dry between sections. We tried to lace the lights through it all and not get them fully immersed.
