Smoky Mezcal Spritz

Nothing says fall quite like a smoky flavor. This cocktail is an intriguing profile that hints at sunsets around a bonfire. The extra flair brought on by snuffing a glass is sure to be a crowd pleaser as well.

Ingredients —

  • 1 oz mezcal

  • 1 oz Aperol

  • .5 oz sweet vermouth

  • Prosecco or cava to top

  • Sprig of herbs (rosemary, sage, etc.)

Directions —

  1. Start off by smoking the glass - this adds an extra shot of smoky flavor and gives a bit of drama to the drink.

To smoke the glass, light a small sprig of herbs, blow out the flame and flip your glass over the herbs, trapping the smoke inside. Let it sit for a little bit until you’re ready to fill the glass.

  2. To make the cocktail, Fill your glass with ice, mezcal, Aperol, and sweet vermouth. Stir until chilled, then top with prosecco. Garnish with smoked herbs and a twist of grapefruit.
